Information About the Associated Schools Project

The United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization, also known as UNESCO, was made up on 16 November 1945. UNESCO was designed to try and keep peace and secruity by making countries work with each other in projects for education, science and culture. UNESCO has done many projects, ranging from big multi-million dollar programs for investigating marine life to making sure that cultural sites are preserved for coming generations.

In 1953, UNESCO launched th Associated Schools Project. The goals for the Associated Schools Project was to 'strengthen the role of education in promoting a culture of peace and tolerance'. In other words, the Associated Schools Project encourages children to make projects that can teach other children about a particular subject.

This web page is an Associated Schools Project about dolphins and how water pollution can effect them. This project was at first supposed to be aimed at children our age. However, as things progressed, we made this web page have information for little children as well as adults. We included simple dolphin games to try and keep the interest of children and pages of informaiton for those who have projects to complete about water pollution or dolphins. I hope that you like this site.
